As Engagement Partner for this Nelson City Council-funded project, GOLD/LASH is working alongside Mission Zero to enable organisations in the Nelson Tasman region to drive behaviour change related to employee commuting. The project runs from July 2024 - June 2025.

Aim: To reduce carbon emissions generated by Nelson Tasman based commuters.
Approach: To engage 10 businesses across the region to conduct an employee commute survey, analyse results, build action plans and drive internal behaviour-change campaigns.
Target: To reach 1000 employees
Participants: Port Nelson, Sealord, Health New Zealand Nelson Marlborough (incl. Nelson Hospital), Cawthron Institute, Nelmac Kūmānu, Nelson Airport, Bowater Motors Group, Tonkin + Taylor, Pic’s Peanut Butter and a local school.

Results: Vastly exceeding targets, the project reached 3500 employees (10% of employees in Nelson), launched a region-wide CEO Forum and received further funding for expansion into 2025/26.
